Fish: 1 kg
Oil: To fry fish and make curry, 8 tablespoons
Yellow mustard seed; 2 tablespoons
Garlic: 15 to 20 cloves
Turmeric powder: 1 tsp.
Red chili powder: 2.5 teaspoons
salt: 3 tsp
For Tempering: Fenugreek, Fennel, Carom, Cumin and Kalonji seeds mixed together in equal parts : 1/2 tsp.
Tomato: 2 chopped
Coriander leaves: one handful chopped
Red dry chili: 2
Step 1: Put pieces of fish in a bowl and wash properly.
Step 2: Marinate the fish with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Step 3: Make a paste of mustard seed and garlic in a mixer grinder and keep aside.
Step 4: Put a saucepan on the flame of the gas and add oil to it. Keep the flame high.
Step 5: When the oil heated, carefully put pieces of fish in the oil and deep fry them. complete the fry.
Step 6: Add tempering items and dried red chili to the leftover oil. Add more oil if required.
Step 7: When the smell of tempering's comes out, add mustard and garlic paste to the oil and chopped tomato. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric, 2.5 tsp red chili powder, and salt, 2 tsp or according to taste.
Step 8 :-Deep fry it until it turn brown.
Step 9: When the oil comes out of the masala, add 3 cups of water to it. Leave it for 5 minutes.
Step 10 :- Now put fried fish in the curry and off the flame.
Step 11: Garnish the fish curry with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice and chapatis.

1.You can also add half an onion paste to the masala if you prefer a thicker curry
