Dahi Vada , is also known as Dahi Bara in many country. Dahi vada is one the main dish in Holi festival. Without it holi is not completed in my family. My family is crazy about Dahi vada. It is a popular snack in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. People love to eat Dahi vada. It consists of lentil fritters (bara) that are soaked in spiced yogurt (dahi) and garnished with chutneys and spices. It is a delicious and yummy breakfasts. Ingredients: 

1 cup urad dal (split black lentils) 
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp black pepper 
1/2 tsp black salt 
Oil for deep frying 
2 cups yogurt 
1/2 tsp salt 
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder 
1/2 tsp chaat masala 
1/2 cup tamarind chutney 
1/2 cup mint chutney 
Chopped cilantro and chopped onion for garnish 

Instructions: 

Step 1: You can Soak the urad dal in water overnight or for at least 4 hours. 

Step 2: Drain the water and grind the dal in a food processor or blender to make a smooth batter. If more water is required to make a thick batter, add it.
Step 3: Add cumin seeds, black pepper, and salt to taste in the batter and mix well. 

Step 4: Take a pan and heat oil in medium flame in a deep frying pan. Take a small portion of batter and drop it into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy. Take out of the oil, then pat dry with a paper towel. 

Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth. Salt, cumin, red chili, and chaat masala should be added. 

Step 6: Soak the fried fritters in water for 5-10 minutes. Squeeze the excess water and transfer them to the spiced yogurt. 

Step 7: Let the fritters soak in the yogurt for at least 30 minutes before serving. 

Step 8: To serve, place the soaked fritters in a serving dish. Add tamarind and mint chutney to the top. Add chopped onion and cilantro as a garnish.
